Welcome to the FEPS Academics Section!

As the Largest Philippine Curriculum Provider in the Northern Emirates, Far Eastern Private School aims to provide quality education to the students through the curriculum implemented, departments, and extra-curricular activities. The program of Far Eastern Private School is conducted in a safe, well-designed, and friendly environment conducive to learning, innovation, and fun. We are also associated as part of the Filipino Community in Sharjah, Dubai, and neighboring cities.

The term curriculum refers to the lessons and academic content taught in a school or in a specific course or program. It is also known as the component parts of a school’s academic program or courses. As a Filipino School, we adopt the K-12 Philippine Curriculum.

Far Eastern Private School uses the Philippine Curriculum which is known as the K to 12 Curriculum with the inclusion of the three required subjects of the host country: Arabic Language, Islamic and Social Studies which focuses on the History of the United Arab Emirates. “K” stands for Kindergarten and 12 refers to the succeeding 12 years of basic education under the Department of Education.

The Key Stages of the K to 12 Curriculum:

  • Kindergarten 1 and 2
  • Grades 1-6: Primary
  • Grades 7-10: Junior High School
  • Grade 11-12: Senior High School

The K to 12 Curriculum aims to:

  • Enhance learners’ basic skills
  • Produce more competent and productive citizens
  • Prepare graduates for tertiary education, middle- level skills development, lifelong learning and employment and entrepreneurship

In the teaching-learning process, the school lays emphasis less on learning by rote and more on understanding, self-expression, self-learning concepts, and acquisition of learning skills. It is through these abilities that the students propel successfully through life.
